ASCII DATA MANAGER

ASCII Data Manager

StockShareV2' allows the user to import ASCII data files to plot charts. This is accomplished in a few steps:

1)        Data source The data (Price and Volume) must come from some where. Many investors have access to data from data vendors or their brokers. Data is also available on the web from sites like Yahoo or MSN. Our example below will show you how to get MSN data.

2)        Down loader / Exporter After you locate the data source, you will need to export the data to your local computer. There are many inexpensive data down loaders on the web to choose from. In our example below, MSN has a built in down loader and we will export the data into a spreadsheet.

3)        Convert data to ASCII Once you have the data in your spread sheet you need to save it in an ASCII format with a file extension such as .csv.

4)        Store ASCII format data The data must be stored in a directory on your local machine.

5)        StockShareV2 ASCII Data Manager -This feature will allow you to manage your ASCII files, create a data feed definition and provide you with an ASCII data feed choice.
